In today’s constantly moving world, the need to engage and interact with your customers is vital to a business’s success. At Drift, they believe in the power of conversational marketing and sales; they understand that the longer it takes for a company to interact with its customers, the more likely they are to lose interest in a product.

Through the use of services like their chatbots, Drift helps their clients directly communicate with their customers; the chatbots help their customers by directing them to the correct department reps, finding the right page of a site, or even automatically answering any question that a customer might have. Drift eliminates the need for your customers to sit and wait for a proper representative by either answering the customer’s question automatically or instantly getting them in touch with the appropriate company rep, increasing both customer satisfaction and company success.

Services like Drift’s chatbots are an invaluable resource for any company, but it’s arguably even more vital for smaller start-ups that depend on positive customer interactions to survive. And that Is why I decided to make a handful of sales pitches for the company.

The Research

As stated above, Drift creates products that help companies interact with their clients and allows companies to answer any question or inquiry that the customer might have.

So after poking around the site to determine who Drift’s primary audience is, I concluded that they mainly target companies that rely on highly personalized customer experience or businesses with highly technical or complex products. They help companies whose customers either know precisely what they want or have no idea what to look for and direct them to where they can find that product.

Armed with this knowledge, I decided to target start-up companies that require the kind of services Drift provides.

Hunting For Leads

The next step I took was probably the most exciting part of creating the sales pitch, finding leads. Now there are many different ways to track down and find prospects, but the one I decided to use was Hunter.io. With this software, I can track down and collect the email address of any potential prospect armed only with a company’s URL. And after I found the software I wanted to use, I scoured the internet and found this list of Prospects:

The leads I found comprised a bunch of companies from a variety of industries. And while the businesses I chose were incredibly diverse in the kind of trades they are involved in, one clear theme each company had was that they all need a strong line of communication with their customers to function.

Once I created my list of prospects and verified them through Hunter.io, I took that list and started working on the next part of my sales endeavor.

Creating Email Pitches

Emails and sales go together like bread and butter, peanut butter and jelly, and spaghetti and meatballs. This is the stage where salespeople get to shine and flex their skills. There are many different kinds of techniques, email templates, and copywriting strategies one can use while making a series of sales emails. I designed each one of the pitches with my prospects in mind; the emails showcase how and why Drift can help them achieve a higher level of customer engagement and success with their company.

General Design and format

While there are many ways to create email templates, I chose Mailchimp to put together this sequence. Mailchimp provides a wide array of prebuilt, custom, and blank templates that one can use to create a sales pitch while also providing a way to track how many people opened, read, and replied to your email pitch.
